The 3rd conference of the European Platform of Self-Advocates (EPSA) took place this weekend in Zagreb. Over 130 self-advocates and supporters from 20 countries joined in to claim the rights of persons with intellectual disabilities as equal citizens of their countries.

Inclusion Europe embarked on a new project on child participation and is looking for your input. The project “Hear our Voices!” aims to strengthen and increase the direct participation of children with intellectual disabilities, one of the guiding principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Europe’s self-advocates made their voices heard during the 2nd conference of the European Platform of Self-Advocates. Well aware of their rights, participants shared their experiences and discussed ways of breaking down the barriers faced by people with intellectual disabilities in everyday lives.
