Cortex will have videos and podcasts on the internet.

A podcast is an interview that you can listen to on-line.

These video and podcast will talk about:

  • Health

  • People with intellectual disabilities

  • Being independent

Being independent means that you live on your own

and are part of the community.

For example, Cortex did an interview with a guy called Axel Zori.

Axel is a runner, and he is training for the

Paralympics games that are happening in 2024 in Paris.

He is blind.

Cortex wants to give people the chance to listen to things.

The content is in easy-to-read.

this way everyone can understand what is written.

The person who created Cortex is a man guy

Benjamin Laurent and he had help from Gapas.

Gapas is an organsation that has been created

to help people with intellectual disabilities.

He also created the studio called Parolox.

a studio is where podcasts and video are made.

Cortex offers around 80 hours video and podcast.

This is around 3 days and 3 nights.

Cortex costs around 6 euro a month.

People with intellectual disabilities who live in

France are around 12 million.

12 million is a lot of people with intellectual disabilities.

But it is not talked about in the news.

This is like.

  • Television
  • Radio
  • Cinema
  • Newspaper

That is the number 1 problem.

That is why disability is not well known.

That is why people with intellectual disabilities feel left out.

Because of this people with intellectual disabilities

feel discriminated against and left out.

The second problem is that media are not

very accessible for people with intellectual disabilities who want to have a job

working there.

Accessible needs to be easier for all

people with intellectual disabilities.

The final problem is that not a lot of

people with intellectual disabilities work in the media.

Our work brings the voice of people with intellectual disabilities and their families where decisions about their future are made.

This has always been incredibly important. It is even more so with the Covid pandemic drastic impact on their rights and lives.

Being visible and vocal on issues directly affecting millions of people requires your support.

Become Inclusion Europe supporter and help us keep doing our work.
