The annual Pontaggia Award (“Premio Pontiggia” in Italian), an international literary competition taking place in Italy, is open for entries, advertises Inclusion Europe member Anffas.

With the aim of promoting and rewarding creativity, the Pontaggia Award is asking people with disabilities to submit their poems and short stories by 20 September, for a chance at the grand prize of 1500 euros, split between the winners of both the poem and short story sections.

This year’s theme is “We are able to imagine living many lives, but we should never give up on our own.” Celebrating its tenth edition, the competition was designed by the AIAS Bologna NGO in 2004, in the memory of Joseph Pontiggia, who passed away in June 2003, a writer and father of a child with disabilities.
