Empower Us is putting together a team of self-advocates. 
Empower Us gives advice and support
to self-advocates, supporters, families, and organizations
on self-advocacy and inclusion.
They do this by creating and sharing things like:
- training
- how-to guides
- examples of what works well
Empower Us is looking for volunteer self-advocates to join
an international action team.
They are looking for self-advocates who understand
what it is like to be a self-advocacy leader.
They are also looking for self-advocates that are a part of
self-advocacy organizations or networks
that work nationally or internationally.
The action team will use their knowledge, skills and influence
to help Empower Us to develop self-advocacy around the world.
The action team will also help check the work of Empower Us
and make sure it is accessible and inclusive.
As an action team member you will take part in meetings
over skype and give opinions.
You will also help speak for Empower Us
and share the information to people who are interested.
You will also share information about issues for self-advocates
where you live.
On the action team you will also respond to requests for help on self-advocacy.
You will respond to requests from these people:
- people with an intellectual disability
- their families
- the organisations that support them.
