Women Enabled International (WEI) has launched a survey aiming at mapping advocates working for the rights of women and girls with disabilities globally.
By understanding who the advocates working within and outside the field of women’s rights and disabilities are, and what issues they are concentrating on, the organization wishes to assess the opportunities and gaps in this growing field of advocacy.
You can take the survey, which only takes 30 minutes, by clicking here. It is available until 14 September at midnight.
In the meantime, WEI is conducting interviews with selected respondents in order to provide a more in-depth analysis of advocacy for the rights of women and girls with disabilities and the international and national legal frameworks related to it. The results of the survey and the interviews will be used for the creation of a report that will be released in 2016. This comprehensive report will include details about the leaders, venues, and locations of women’s disability rights advocates and organizations. This first-ever mapping project of advocates fighting for the rights of women with disabilities will serve as a tool for collaboration and collective actions, to push for more systemic and inclusive human rights policies.
