This seminar is aimed at lawyers who will use
the Charter of Fundamental Rights in their work.

It is in Tier, Germany 15-16 September 2016.

The Academy of European Law (ERA) is hosting a seminar on the Charter of Fundamental Rights with a focus on social law. It will provide practical training, presentations, group discussions and workshops. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss with colleagues and experts from across Europe the most relevant practical issues and recent developments in the field and to learn how to make use of the Charter in a case before a court.

The key topics of discussion are:

• Legal value of the Charter
• Scope of application and content of the Charter, with a focus on social rights
• Hints on application and interpretation of the Charter
• Relationship with the European Convention on Human Rights and other human rights provisions

The event is 15-16 September 2016 in Trier, Germany and will be delivered in English.

Participation is open to lawyers in private practice wishing to apply the Charter’s provisions to a case before a court and academics or other legal professionals from EU Member States.
