Women with disabilities should be invitedÂ
to conferences on women's rights.Â
People with intellectual disabilities were abused
in a hospital in the United Kingdom.
Inclusion Europe asks to close these institutions now!
It was with sadness and shock, but not surprise, that we learned about the abuses (including physical violence and mental torture) that persons with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities and persons with autism were subjected to at the Whorton Hall specialist hospital in the United Kingdom.
Inclusion Europe, the European Disability Forum and the European Women’s Lobby express their concern about the lack of women with disabilities at the conference held on 24 May.
Our Voting Champion in April is Carmen Piquer of "Som FundaciĂł".
Carmen regained her right to vote in 2015, following lengthy legal procedures. Now she tells others about the electoral process and encourages them to go to vote.
Our Belarussian member BelAPDIiMI (“Belarusian association of assistance to children and young people with disabilities”) celebrates its 25th anniversary this year – congratulations! On the occasion, we asked its director, Elena Titova, a few questions.
