The European Commission (EC) has launched a public appeal for consultation on the Europe 2020 Strategy earlier this month. The call for contributions on the implementation and current applicability of the strategy will be open until the 31 October of the same year.

Logo European CommissionEurope 2020 is a 10-year action plan designed by the EC and set in motion in March 2010 that supports “smart, sustainable and inclusive growth”. Constructed around five main issues – employment, research and development, climate and energy, education and the fight against poverty and social exclusion – it takes the shape of a partnership for development between the European Union (EU) and the 28 Member States.

Through its appeal, the Commission is asking contributors from all over Europe to share knowledge, experiences and ideas in order to create a more rounded view of progress made in the four years since Europe 2020’s launch. Organisations and any other interested parties can express their views and help improve the general outlook and understanding of social policies in place.

There are two main ways of contributing:

  • by filling in the questionnaire at the following link
  • by direct e-mail at the following address (only applies to contributions made in the area of social policy)
