Inclusion Europe met with Nicolas Schmit
at the European Parliament.
Nicolas Schmit will soon start working as a
Commissioner at the European Commission.
He will work on jobs and social rights.
Social rights are rights that every citizen has
so they can live a good life.
For example, the right to health.
Or the right to have a flat or house to live in.
These rights are also important
for people with intellectual disabilities.
Nicolas Schmit will also work on the
European Pillar of Social Rights.
We talked about different topics with him
during the meeting.

- the European Disability Strategy
- deinstitutionalisation
- support for families of people with intellectual disabilities
