About 250 000 people with intellectual disabilities will be voting for the first time at European elections

The Access to Justice for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (AJuPID) project examines how legal capacity and access to justice is guaranteed for persons with intellectual disabilities in the European context and promotes good practices of supported decision-making.

To end our focus on elections and the right to vote, we published a document about the situation of legal capacity in Europe.

On 24 February 2014, Udruga za Samozastupanje - the Croatian Association for Self Advocacy, GONG and Disability Ombudsman Office organized a roundtable meeting in the Croatian Parliament within the framework of an EU-funded project Human Rights Advocacy through Learning by Doing.

My Talents. For Diversity. is a European project about the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in the labour market and the benefits of diversity management.

What has been done in the last 5 years to improve the lives of persons with disabilities in the European Union? To the question asked by the European Commission, the answer from persons with intellectual disabilities and their families is “not much”.

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) states in Article 12 that all people with disabilities should “enjoy legal capacity on an equal basis with others in all aspects of life.
