Inclusion Ireland has called for robust and independent investigations following the release of shocking footage at the public-funded Áras Attracta, a care centre located in Mayo, Ireland.
The 1993 Criminal Law Act in Ireland criminalises sexual relations with people with intellectual disabilities outside of marriage. Inclusion Europe member Inclusion Ireland has called for this law to be changed so that it takes into account relationships for people with intellectual disabilities.
Inclusion Europe member organization Inclusion Ireland and Down Syndrome Ireland have announced their plans to host a stage production of ‘Sanctuary’ as part of their agenda to mark this year’s United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which falls on 3 December.
