European Union

Call for tenders on “European Disability Expertise”. The general purpose of the tender is to collect, analyse and provide independent and scientific data and information relating to national disability policies and legislations, in all Member States. Deadline extended to 4 May 2020. More info (reference EMPL/2020/OP/0003).

 

#EUvsVirus: Pan-European Hackathon. It will be hosted on 24, 25 and 26 April by the European Commission in cooperation with Member States, in order to develop solutions for the emergency by connecting civil society, innovators, partners and investors. Read more.

 

EU development ministers held an informal meeting via videoconference to launch the “Team Europe” package. It consists of €20 billionto help the most vulnerable countries in the world. It will focus on thepeople most at risk,including children, women, the elderly, people with disabilities, migrants and refugees. Read more.

 

Eurofound survey: Living, working and Covid-19. This 10-minute survey aims to capture the most immediate changes and impacts of the Coronavirus emergency on people’s work and life. The survey is open for persons that are 18 years or older and is available in all EU languages. Participate here.

 

The Commission will held an online Q&A session about the CRII+. The CRII+ (Coronavirus Response Investment Initiative Plus) consists of a new set of measures to mobilise support against Covid-19. To join the Q&A, write to: EC-CORONA-RESPONSE-INVESTMENT-SECRETARIAT@ec.europa.eu 

 

EDF published a call on the European Commission, signed by many MEPs. The call urges the Commission on mobilising investments and resources (CRII and EU funds) to guarantee the continuity of care and support services in Europe during the pandemic. Read more.

Belgian organisation Inclusion asbl produced a document about the emergency. Written together with other organisations for persons with disabilities, the document is addressed to competent authorities, demanding some special measurers to be adopted during the emergency.
