âInclusive Schoolsâ (called âInScoolâ, in short)
is a project that wants to support inclusive education in Europe.
Inclusion Europe had an interview with one of the organisers
to learn more about the project.
Eirini Kareta is EU Programmes Manager at the British Council and one of the key organisers of the project âInclusive Schoolsâ (âInScoolâ, in short). We interviewed Ms. Kareta as part of our campaign of 2020 focused on inclusive education, motivated to learn more about the InScool project.
Thibeau Bastien, a 22-year-old sportsman from Belgium has, together with his âsailing buddyâ Matthias, achieved an impressive track record in sailing. After joining Unified Sailing Belgium in 2013, he became European champion in 2015 and in 2017, won gold at the Special Olympics World Games in 2015 in Los Angeles and in 2019 in Abu Dhabi.
Thibeau Bastien is 22 years old.
He is a sportsman from Belgium.
He is very good at sailing.
In 2013 he joined Unified Sailing Belgium.
This is an organisation that puts together
people without disabilities
and people with intellectual disabilities
who want to sail.
At the end of his compulsory secondary education, Rafael CalderĂłn was told that he wasnât able to learn more. Now he has become the first Spanish person with Down Syndrome to obtain a professional degree in Music.

570 pupils, almost half of them with special educational needs, learn together at the "Protestant school complex âMartinschuleâ" in Greifswald (Germany). We spoke to Benjamin Skladny, headmaster of the Martinschule since its beginnings.
